1. How does the Green Screen filter work, and how does it differ from the other filters? |
Answer: It is very different from any filter available for residential use. The Green Screen filter is a commercial, hospital, commercial grade filter. You can only buy it from our company. It is a Progressive density, Polyester media pad, treated with an anti-microbial that has been baked into the fiber. It does not support the growth of mold, mildew, fungus, allergens or dust mites. The filter loads evenly & won’t stop or restrict your air flow like other filters. It has an efficiency rating down to 1 micron.
2. How often do I change my filter? |
Answer: We recommend changing them every 2 - 3 months. That is about the time when your resistance will start to go up due to the amount of dirt the Green Screen filter has trapped. We want you to change your filter when the efficiency is high and the resistance is low.
3. I have a really odd sized filter in my home, can you fit my unit? |
Answer: Yes! We can custom size your frame to fit ANY size. The replacement pads are always cut to fit your frame.
4. Is it environmentally friendly? |
Answer: Yes! It is a synthetic polyester fiber. It is also Land Fillable (safe to add to a landfill). You don’t have the cardboard or fiberglass to dispose of. The Frame is 100% recyclable.
5. Is the Green Screen filter better than an electrostatic or pleated filter? |
Answer: Yes! The whole design is different. An electrostatic filter has never been a good concept. It looks better and costs more, so people think it is better, when in fact it is worse. First, as mentioned previously, you NEVER want to wash a filter and put it back in you’re A/C unit. This is a sure way of growing mold and mildew. Every time the electrostatic filter is washed, the electrostatic charge is depleted and completely gone after the second wash. Both the pleated filter and the electrostatic filter are very restrictive on your air flow. Neither filter has an efficiency rating like the Green Screen filter. They only have an arrestance rating.

6. Should we use this filter even if we have an air purifier or alpine air cleaner? |
Answer: Yes! In using both you capture the vast majority of all particles in the air.
7. What are efficiency, dust holding capacity and resistance? |
Answer: Efficiency is a grading scale to grade how much and what size particles a particular type of filter can stop. The scale goes from arrestance, efficiency, hepa, & ulpa. Arrestance is 10 micron sized particles and up. (Large Particles) efficiency is 10 microns down to 1 micron. (smaller) HEPA is from 99.97% at .3 micron (smaller) ULPA can catch as much as 99.99995% at .3 micron. (very small) One thing to remember is that the smallest particle size that can be seen with the naked eye is 10 microns, or roughly the equivalent of a human hair.

8. What is an Anti-Microbial? |
Answer: The Green Screen filter has had and anti-microbial agent woven into its fibers. This will inhibit the growth of any bacteria, mold, mildew, algae, allergens and dust mites that come in contact with the filter media. It is 100% safe. It does not have an odor or give off any harmful fumes or gases. It is safe for all residents and pets in the home. The Anti-Microbial is so safe in fact that it is used to line the inside of soda cans for the same reasons.
9. What is Progressive density? |
Answer: This is when the media fibers get smaller as you get to the back of the filter or air leaving side. This allows the larger particles to be captured in front and the smaller particles to travel deeper into the filter and become trapped. This allows the Green Screen filter to load evenly and lowers the resistance of the air flow through your filter. This filter does not face load.
10. What is the sticky stuff I feel on my filter? |
Answer: That is a wet tactifier, which helps the filter catch and hold very small particles. It is absolutely harmless and easily washes off with soap and water.
11. Where else can I buy this filter |
Answer: It is only available through Air Filtration Management.
12. Will the Green Screen filter help with the dust and pet dander in my home? |
Answer: Yes! This filter is designed to catch even the smallest particles, including pet dander and dust mites.
13. How long have you been in business & where do you sell your filters? |
Answer: We have over 50 years experience dealing with Polyester filter media. We are family owned and operated locally in Texas. We ship our residential filters all over the U.S. Some of our commercial customers have included M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Scott & White Hospital in Temple, TXU Nuclear Power Plant in Glen Rose and Several Verizon locations throughout Texas. In hospitals this filter is usually a pre-filter to a final HEPA filter. It is used in 3 or 4 stage filtration for very large Air-Handling systems.

14. Can you please tell us the MERV rating of your green filters? |
Answer: Our filter is rated MERV 8-A
Please keep in mind that the air filter industry selling pleated filters has convinced consumers that the higher the MERV rating a filter has makes it a better filter, but this is simply not completely true. MERV ratings were originally designed to measure how small a particle a filter can capture, this test doesnt take into consideration the dust holding capacity, or resistance to air flow a filter has. Our Green Screen has a high dust holding capacity with very low resistance. This allows it to capture the most particles and still not be restrictive on your A/C unit. If you go to the store and look at any of the pleated filters you will not find their dust holding capacity or resistance numbers on them at all because they dont paint them in a good light, they are solely basing it on that MERV number. Our filter is really in a class by itself. It is also treated with an antimicrobial which inhibits the growth of harmful particles captured in the filter. It has a progressive density which allows it to really out perform any pleat on the market.
I hope I have answered your question. Let me know if you have any others.
Kindest regards,
Tammy Dempsey

15. Do we have to wash our Green Screen filter? |
Answer: Definitely not!! You do not want to wash any filter and put it back into you’re A/C unit. Doing so will create a haven for mold & mildew to grow and spread throughout you’re A/C ducts and home. If you were to wash the Green Screen filter, it would have a hard time letting go of the dust it has captured.

16. ID:eellis - I can't order your product because it asks for the username of someone who referred me. I saw the product at a home and garden show. What's the problem here? Why would I need a referral? |
Answer: We have several Sales Reps or Distributors that sell out products. In order for them to receive a commission the website is required to know how you hear about us. Can you tell me where the Home & Garden show was and I can give you the direct link to their website where you can order securely?
Let me know if you need anything else.

17. What is the difference between the green & blue media? |
Answer: The green media is a high grade filter with a wet tactifier and anti-microbial treated, with a dust holding capacity of 199 grams (based on a 24 x 24 x 1” filter size).
The blue media is our standard grade filter. It has a dry tactifier and is not treated with an anti-microbial, with a dust holding capacity of 185 grams (based on a 24 x 24 x 1” filter size).

18. Does this filter restrict the air flow? |
Answer: No. It is designed with progressive density that allows clean air to pass through, while at the same time stopping the dirt. It will not face load, as occurs with other filters such as pleats, electrostatics and metal mesh filters. Face loading is when a filter doesn’t load evenly causing the large & small particles to get stuck on the front of the filter and back up onto each other. This causes the A/C units fan to work harder to pass air through your ducts and into your home, causing a great strain on your A/C unit and over amps your fan motor. In an average 2000 sq. ft. home, face loading could cost the consumer between $4.00 - $8.00 per month.

19. ID:Carol Fischer - Please let me know if there are thinner frames for the filters. The ones I have will not fit. |
Answer: I do have a filter we can a ring panel filter. It is made with the same Green Screen filter material, but it has an internal ring support system. The internal ring is slightly thicker around than a coat hanger. It allows the filter to fit in smaller, thin areas. I have your email address, I can send some pictures of the filter I am talking about if you wish. Just let me know.

20. ID:jparish@austin.rr.com - Are your filters washable? What is the recommended was method? |
Answer: No the filters are not washable. They are treated with a wet tactifier which holds the particles in the filter once they are captured. Also, you dont want to wash out any filter, the chances that it is completely dry when you put it back in you system is unlikely, and putting it in a cold damp enviromnemt just leads to potential mold growth. The best way is to capture the particles and throw them away. Then you know they are gone.
